How to Play Ludo Online (Beginner's Guide)
If you've ever played Ludo on a board at home, you already know 90% of this. Playing online just removes the setup: no board to unfold, no dice to chase under the sofa. Here's the whole thing, step by step.
Step 1: Create a room
Open the game page, type your name, and choose how many players you want (2, 3, or 4). Hit Create Room — you'll instantly get a short room code like KX7P2M.
Step 2: Invite your friends
Copy the room link and send it on WhatsApp or any messenger. Your friends open it, type their names, and they're in. Nobody needs to install anything — it works right in the browser, on phones and computers alike.
Step 3: Fill empty seats with bots
Only two of you free tonight but you picked 4 players? No problem — tap Add Bot and computer players fill the gaps. They're surprisingly decent: they capture, they defend, they don't just wander around.
Step 4: Roll and move
When it's your turn, tap the dice. You need a 6 to bring a token out of your base. After that, each roll moves one token forward by that many squares. Tokens you can move will glow — just tap one.
Step 5: Capture and stay safe
Land on an opponent's token and it's sent back to base — very satisfying, slightly evil. But careful: squares with a ★ star are safe. Nobody can be captured there, so park your tokens on stars when danger is near.
Step 6: Race home
Guide all four tokens around the board and up your coloured home column. You need the exact roll to enter home — no overshooting! First player to bring all four tokens home wins. 🏆
Quick tips for your first game
- Don't rush one token. Spread your moves — a single far-ahead token is a capture magnet.
- Rolling a 6 gives another turn — as do captures and bringing a token home. Chain them!
- Three 6s in a row cancels your turn, so don't get greedy.
- If your internet drops, a bot covers for you and you can rejoin within 10 minutes.
